About the Letní Letná festival

The Festival of New Circus, Theater, Music and Visual Arts Letní Letná was held for the first time in 2004. Over the course of 13 years, it has become an integral part of not only the Czech but also the European cultural map - it has become an event unparalleled in our country.

have watched the festival's performances since 2004 Festival visitors regularly witness Czech and world premieres.
Dramaturgy always presents current productions, which are premiered in the Czech Republic and often in Central Europe, bringing ensembles with an excellent reputation, belonging to the top and awarded international prizes.
Letní Letná brings the best ensembles from all over the world to Prague.
Over the course of twelve years, she not only presented prestigious ensembles from all over Europe, but also featured artists from Australia, Canada, Mexico and Uruguay. He brought to the Czech Republic such top world circus circuses as Cirque Ici, Cirque Trottola, Les Colporteurs, 7 Fingers, Circus Cirkör, Compagnie XY, Cirque Baroque, Cahin Caha, Malabar, Atelier Lefevreu & André, Cie Galapiat, Le Boustrophedon Cirque Trottola & Petit Th éâtre Baraque, Cirque Inextremiste, La Compagnie du Poivre Rose, NoFit State Circus, Compagnie Rasposo and others.
Letní Letná received the EFFE - Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe brand for the years 2015-2016, which was initiated by the European Festivals Association. In total, festivals from 31 countries were selected in Europe based on expert evaluations and an international jury. Letní strives intensively for the development and promotion of the new circus scene, which is why it regularly supports and organizes meetings of experts and meetings of artists with the public. In cooperation with the Cirqueon new circus center, CIRKFÓRUM took place again this year - a unique meeting of professionals, promoters, tour managers, theater and festival directors who want to cooperate in the new circus and help develop the genre in our Euroregion. The aim of this meeting is networking and an effort to find practical possibilities for cooperation in the region of Central Europe and at the same time to present the Czech professional scene.
