Mangalica is a special breed of pigs, which was created in the 19th century by crossing a breed from the Bakoň Forest with semi-wild pigs from Šumadija. It is characterized by a long wavy, sometimes even curly coat, which allows you to graze outdoors even in winter, even in deep frosts around -25 ° C. Thus, the pigs achieve a natural increase in lard with the content of so-called healthy cholesterol. The meat is also very tasty for its juiciness and delicate consistency.
